James leads Cavaliers over Pacers 111-106

LeBron James had his fourth triple-double of the season, and the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Indiana Pacers 111-106 Sunday for their third straight win. James, the league’s leading scorer, finished with 30 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. It was the 14th triple-double of his career.

IU dominates Hoosier Duals with a 5-0 record

The IU wrestling team continued its hot start to the season by going undefeated at the Hoosier Duals this weekend. Extending their record to 6-0, the Hoosiers dominated the competition at Assembly Hall on Saturday by posting dual match team victories of at least 23 points in each match.

For the first four minutes of Tuesday’s game, the No. 8 IU men’s basketball team looked like it would be in for a battle against the University of North Carolina-Wilmington.

Believing in 13

Somewhere, Terry Hoeppner is smiling. Whether he saw the game will forever be unknown, but what happened at Memorial Stadium on Saturday night vindicated a program that has not gone to a bowl game since 1993. A 27-24 victory over Purdue (7-5, 3-5) to win the Old Oaken Bucket and most likely take IU to a bowl game did more than just satisfy the Hoosier football team.

The hard part is over. The Hoosiers’ triumph over rival Purdue virtually guarantees the team its goal of playing a 13th game. IU now must do something it hasn’t had the privilege of doing in 14 years: wait to see if it gets the 13th game, and if so, find out where it is and who it’s against.

The IU men’s basketball team was supposed to have a potent offensive attack. But it was the staunch defense that impressed coach Kelvin Sampson during No. 8 IU’s 100-49 win against Longwood on Sunday at home.

IU volleyball falls to Wolverines in 3 games

Nov. 17 marked the final home game for three seniors on the IU volleyball team, as outside hitter Gabrielle Allison, right side Lauren Ditteon and middle blocker Annie Moddrell played their final match at the University Gym. But it was a bittersweet night, as the Hoosiers were defeated by Michigan 3-0 (30-21, 30-23, 30-24).
