The Hoosiers (13-5, 2-2) hope to crack the top-25 as they travel for a pair of road matches against No. 12 Illinois (10-3, 2-2) at 8 p.m. Saturday and Northwestern (9-7, 0-4) at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Indiana Fever fans come out in droves for finals

The Fever have another chance to win at Phoenix on Friday, after losing 90-77 to the Mercury in Indianapolis. Fever fans came in droves Wednesday, each point or rebound sparking cheers that could have probably reached Lucas Oil Stadium.

Crimson Club rewards students’ attendance

Because of a new promotion by the IU Athletics Department, students can earn points to win prizes by attending regular-season games throughout the 2009-10 academic year. Students will not receive rewards at any postseason events.

IU loses in double overtime to Butler

Despite a Darren Yeagle goal three minutes into Wednesday night’s game, the visiting Butler Bulldogs’ bite in the second half was too much for No. 14 IU to handle as the Hoosiers were upset 2-1 in double overtime.

Adlard recognized in conference

Following a career-best effort in IU’s 3-0 shelling of No. 13 Kentucky on Sept. 29, junior forward Andy Adlard collected his first weekly conference honor when he was named this week’s co-Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week.

Freshman Tommy Aliber might not currently be the best player on the IU men’s tennis team, but his hard work and dedication have turned him into a two-time state champion and the No. 1 singles player in the Missouri Valley and give him the ability to possibly reach that point at IU.

The leaves are changing, and so is the temperature. In other words, we are starting to find out who is for real and who is not in the college football world, and who could or will not contend for the National Championship.
