IU gains two wins after early loss at tournament

The Hoosiers (11-3) claimed two victories in three matches in their home tournament, falling to Western Michigan in four sets Friday and beating Alabama A&M and North Carolina A&T in straight sets Saturday.

MacTaggart, Gruter lead Hoosiers in opening weekend

It might be early, but the IU men’s tennis team is already winning championships. Freshman Josh MacTaggart and junior Santiago Gruter both claimed titles at the Hoosier Invitational this weekend, the first tournament of the fall season.

No. 8 IU downs FIU in double overtime

The No. 8 IU men’s soccer team defeated Florida International 2-1 in double overtime Sunday to even up its record at 1-1 on the weekend at the University of Akron Tournament.

AKRON, Ohio — With two close wins to start the season, the IU football team needed a big victory to make a statement to the rest of the Big Ten. And with their 38-21 win, the Hoosiers did just that.

A goal with less than 15 minutes to go from Akron midfielder Michael Nanchoff propelled the Zips past IU in a 1-0 contest Friday.

Irving’s uncle: IU is out

In a major shift from information given only a couple weeks ago, IU is out of the mix for the No. 4 point guard in the nation, Kyrie Irving, his uncle Sye Dean told Adam Zagoria of Zagsblog. Formerly, it was believed that Indiana and Duke were Irving’s top two schools, and that he would definitely take a visit to both.

Hoosiers ready for competition

Three of the four IU freshmen – Tommy Ailber, Isade Juneau and Josh MacTaggart – will get their first college tennis action at the Hoosier Invitational that begins Friday, which will be played on the IU Varsity Courts. The field includes No. 10 Tennessee and No. 22 Louisville,  along with Western Michigan, Southern Illinois, Xavier and Cleveland State.
