All rookie Forest makes cut at Little 500 Qualifications

The Forest all-rookie men’s team makes up its own practice techniques. They don’t take them from anybody. “It’s a pride thing,” junior Zack Clark says. They’ve never done this before, never trained, never competed. Four of the six team members have never even seen the race — they’ll watch a tape of the 2004 race to prepare.

With ‘The Movement” on its way, questions remain for Indiana basketball next season

After returning just 32 points to the roster four years ago, IU will bring back all five starters and 85 percent of its starting lineup next season. Based off those numbers, the answer to this question would seem like a pretty obvious “No.” However, IU Coach Tom Crean is bringing in a top-five recruiting class with multiple players ranked in the top 50 by various news organizations.

IU starts out strong in Big Ten play

The No. 57 Hoosiers picked up two key wins on the road this weekend, improving their overall record to 13-4 (2-1). These wins were also the first conference victories of the season for the team.

Women’s golf struggles to stay in contention out west

Despite strong play and a few good holes, the win ultimately comes down to the final stroke. After a seventh-place finish last week, junior co-captain Kate Coons said the IU women’s golf team needed to improve putting three solid rounds together.

IU wins 1st Big Ten series against Penn State

Chris Sujka’s two-run double in the sixth inning provided the Hoosiers all the offense necessary to win the game — and the series — 2-1 in the rubber match against Penn State. IU’s series win was the first foray into conference play for both teams.

Ohio State, Kansas back in Final Four

The Big Ten torch will be carried by the Ohio State Buckeyes this weekend in New Orleans. Overcoming major foul trouble in the first half, the Buckeyes outlasted Syracuse 77-70 to win the East Region and advance to their first Final Four since 2007.

Louisville set for Kentucky rematch

Kentucky played like Kentucky. Despite No. 4 IU’s 90 points — Kentucky’s worst defensive output of the season — the Wildcats still pulled out the 12-point win.
