EVANSTON, Ill. -- The Hoosiers didn't even win the tip. Nor did the IU men's basketball team get more rebounds or more steals. All it can boast is more turnovers and a fourth consecutive loss. Road games have not been kind to the Hoosiers (14-7, 4-4 Big Ten).

AKRON, Ohio -- LeBron James' attorney asked a court Tuesday to block a ruling that barred the basketball high school superstar from playing for the rest of the season. NEWARK, N.J. -- Jayson Williams' trial for Feb. 18 was called off Tuesday when an appeals court agreed to consider dismissing manslaughter charges against the former NBA star. The IU Table Tennis Club will host the National Collegiate Table Tennis Association Ohio Division Tournament on Feb. 9 in HPER 293 from noon to 4 p.m.

IUSF halts Mini 500 race tradition

Hoosiers hope to snap losing streak

Just one more game, and then the IU men's basketball team gets to enjoy the comforts of home. And home has never looked better to the Hoosiers, who are struggling their way through four trying road games. Three of the games have gone the other way and have subsequently dropped IU from the rankings for the first time all season. Before home, however, the Hoosiers (14-6, 4-3 Big Ten) travel to Evanston, Ill., for the 9 p.m. game to take on the Northwestern Wildcats who are experiencing a disheartening streak of their own. The Wildcats are 8-10 for the season and have not picked up a victory since before the start of the Big Ten season, making them 0-7 in the conference.

Missing Raider diagnosed

Oakland, Calif -- The agent for Barret Robbins confirmed Monday that the Oakland Raiders' All-Pro center has bipolar disorder, and that he expressed "remorse and deep sadness" for missing the Super Bowl. Robbins remains hospitalized because of his condition, agent Drew Pittman said in a statement to ESPN.

Weekend sweep gives IU shot at title

The IU hockey team completed a weekend to set up a shot at the Great Midwest Hockey League regular season title next weekend. The Hoosiers got up early against Ferris State when junior forward David Dassel scored on a rebound. IU added another before FSU responded with a powerplay goal midway through the first. The Hoosiers scored twice more in the first and the teams traded goals in the second to give IU a 5-2 lead.

The IU women's tennis team traveled to North Carolina to face off against two of the top rated teams in the country. Unfortunately, the Hoosiers lost both of their matches this weekend. The two losses dropped the team's season record to 2-2.

Undefeated IU downs NC State

The IU men's tennis team continued their undefeated streak Saturday afternoon, beating North Carolina State 7-0 to improve to 4-0 on the year. "This has been an awesome start for the team," interim coach Matthew Pledger said in a statement. "The guys work so hard in practice and it has really been paying off. They do anything that is asked of them, I can't say it enough how proud I am of them."

No. 19 IU earns second win of season over Illinois

The No. 19 IU men's track and field team earned its second indoor win of the season on Saturday as they defeated host Illinois, Missouri and Eastern Illinois. IU scored 180.5 points to defeat its nearest competitor, Illinois, who had 142. Missouri finished third with 135.5 points, and Eastern Illinois had 79.

Strong performances bolster win

That was the feeling for the IU men's basketball team and their fans after the No. 19 Hoosiers let a lead as large as 16 points dwindle to zero as IU gave into the No. 8 Louisville pressure in the second half. The Hoosiers lost the lead, their shot and, for the second time that week, the game. Louisville won 95-76.
