Civilians weep for Kabul dead

Shock rocker to play Indy Halloween festival

The fears of today and scares of years past will come together today as classic shock-rocker Alice Cooper performs a pavilion-only show at the Verizon Wireless Music Center. Cooper's performance is one highlight of Hardee's Stage Fright, an interactive carnival of horror, music and other Halloween events designed to chill visitors during the month of October.

'Noises Off' provides comic relief

State unemployment below average; Bloomington fares particularly well

Despite job losses in every major industrial category in Indiana, state unemployment is nearly 1 percent lower than the national average for the month of August, according to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. The unemployment rate was calculated by excluding agriculture and self-employed workers.

Fraternity offers diverse events

Tour guides offer view of campus to new students

U.S. explains attacks as 'self-defense' to U.N.

Cult film director to speak to campus

Afghanistan faces U.S. air strikes for second night

WASHINGTON -- The United States pounded terrorist targets in Afghanistan from the air for a second night Monday in an effort to undercut the Taliban militia sheltering Osama bin Laden. Anti-Taliban forces inside Afghanistan appeared ready to strike in concert with the American barrage. As U.S. warplanes and naval forces unleashed assaults halfway around the world, the Bush administration raised its guard at home.

Team makes strides in bad weather

Friday was one of the gloomiest days of the school year. It was cold, rainy, and windy. But the bad weather did not stop the men's cross-country team from participating in the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend. Despite lackluster running conditions, the team took a turn in the right direction.

Team improves, finishes 8th

The Hoosiers went to South Bend Friday in hopes of turning things around. They took a step in the right direction by placing eighth among the 17 teams in the event. IU was within 30 points of fourth place.

'The Curse' was lifted
