Nicklaus withdraws from tournament

Jack Nicklaus, the most dominant player at Augusta National with six green jackets won over 23 years, withdrew Tuesday from the Masters because of lingering back problems. It will be only the second time since 1959 that Nicklaus has missed the Masters. He also skipped in 1999 when he was recovering from hip replacement surgery.

From a fan's perspective

I feel funny. Something isn't right, and I haven't been able to figure out exactly what it is. This feeling started about three weeks ago, right around the end of spring break. And no, it wasn't alcohol poisoning. It started about the time the NCAA tournament started, specifically when IU began playing. I was out in LA with my roommates enjoying the nice California sun, and Thursday night we headed out to watch all the Hoosier action at a local pub.

Quarters, three man, beer pong, cups, anchorman -- for some, drinking games are an integral part of the college experience, with drinking during the college years seen as a rite of passage. However, students who participate in games that promote dangerous drinking can risk more than losing just a game -- they can lose their lives.
