We are writing in response to your article entitled, "To Dorm or not to Dorm." The article discussed the supposed benefits of either living or not living in the residence halls. The facts and figures used were on the extreme high end of rates.

A 20-foot red, white and blue billboard with "Prall for Mayor" in large block letters coasted down Third Street during the Homecoming parade Friday. Prall himself, along with his campaign workers, ran along the side, smiling at the crowds, passing out notepads with his name printed on the top and Dum Dum lollipops.

In 21 days, months of hard work will come to fruition for Democratic mayoral candidate Mark Kruzan and his campaign staff. With the final ballot count tallied, Kruzan will see just how well he connected with the Bloomington community. Already the winner of eight political elections since 1986, Kruzan is working to make this Bloomington election number nine.

Analysts see weakness in NBC

NEW YORK -- Three weeks into the new television season, NBC is giving its Friday schedule a complete facelift -- an indication all is not well at the most profitable broadcast network. The critically praised "Boomtown" is now on hiatus, replaced by a "Law & Order: SVU" rerun. Alicia Silverstone's dating drama, "Miss Match," is moving an hour later to 9 p.m. EDT. And a "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" rerun was lifted from Bravo and plugged into the 8 p.m. slot.

IU has hands full with 2 tough road tests

October 13, 1995, was the last time Wisconsin beat IU. It was also the last time the Hoosiers lost a Big Ten regular season game. This weekend they head up to Madison, Wisc. and Evanston, Ill., looking to extend their 41-game conference undefeated streak. IU (3-3-4, 1-0-1 Big Ten) will battle the Badgers tonight at 7 p.m. and less than 48 hours later will face Northwestern to conclude the weekend trip and three-game conference road swing.

Team wins twice over weekend

The men's soccer team collected a pair of shutouts over the weekend. The Hoosiers toppled Wisconsin 3-0 Friday and defeated Northwestern by the same score Sunday. IU's victory against the Wildcats (5-4-4, 0-2-1) in Evanston, Ill. was IU's third consecutive win. The Hoosiers (5-3-4, 3-0-1) extended their conference undefeated streak to 43 games in regular season play.
