Five new IU football helmets

The IU football team unveiled five new helmets for the 2013 season Monday in a YouTube video. The team will use each helmet at least once during the upcoming season, as well as the traditional crimson helmet with the IU trident logo on each side.

Drouin prepares for rematch in NCAA Championships

Derek Drouin last won the NCAA Outdoor Championship in the high jump in 2010 in Eugene, Ore.Now, the IU senior returns to Hayward Field Thursday through Saturday for the first time since his only outdoor title with the goal of leaving a champion once again.

Column: Recruits need to learn responsibility

The matter at hand is recruiting, which has become a sideshow — circus is the truly appropriate term — all its own. The first Wednesday in February is known to recruiting junkies as National Signing Day, which, in my mind, has been elevated to holiday status. It’s sickening, really.

The IU men’s club lacrosse coach understands there isn’t enough money to support IU upgrading to a Division I program and joining the new Big Ten lacrosse conference that was announced Monday, and he's fine with remaining in the club level MCLA.

Sexual assault reported at Motel 6

Patrons in the Motel 6 complex indicated an “extremely impaired” 37-year-old woman staying in a room. The motel manager went to the room to conduct a welfare check and confirmed the woman was intoxicated and nearly passed-out.

Bloomington Police Department officers responded to a sexual assault report at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday on the 1800 block of North Walnut Street, BPD Sgt. Joe Crider said.
