San Francisco natives Hot Buttered Rum will play at 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Bluebird Nightclub. The performance is sponsored by Groove Productions and also features fiddler Allie Kral and The New Old Calvary.

The Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Bloomington staged its first weekly salsa dancing class in years Monday night. Owner and instructor Barbara Leininger said she is eager to see the crowd the Monday night salsa classes will bring in.

The dean testified at a hearing Monday before the European Parliament’s Trade Committee in Brussels, Belgium, regarding a deal to smooth trade relations between the European Union and the United States.

Scientist says NASA ready for asteroid impact

If an asteroid came close to Earth, NASA has ways to deflect the asteroid’s orbit to protect the people of Earth, a senior scientist for NASA said Monday during a lecture in Rawles Hall. “We will not go the way of the dinosaurs," said scientist David Morrison.
