Speaker addresses sexual issues

The "Go Ask Alice" presentation Tuesday featured serious, funny and weird questions about sex -- just as organizers expected. Judith Steinhart, senior health educator for Columbia University and member of the team behind the "Go Ask Alice" Web site, gave the presentation, entitled "From Alfred Kinsey to Go Ask Alice," at the Indiana Memorial Union's Whittenberger Auditorium.

Blood, death, sex and ballet, oh my! The IU Ballet Theater's "Colours of Dance" ended with a bang this past weekend with a world-premiere version of Igor Stravinsky's infamous one-act ballet. However, the three opening dances were much more traditional.

Last week, radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh announced on his program that he is addicted to prescription pain pills. Limbaugh began taking pain pills after surgery in the 1990s and has since become addicted.

That's what it's there for

OK, I admit in hindsight there were a few (20 or 30) times a few weeks ago when I really should have just swallowed my pride, gotten over my fears and gone to the IU Health Center. I had what appeared to be a cold or a dead fish caught in my sinus cavity or something. I don't really know. I get sick easily in autumn, because I have seasonal allergies and the actual germs sneak into me.

Three years ago, IU's Bloomington campus teamed with IU-Northwest Gary and IU-Purdue University at Indianapolis as well as two universities in Michigan and Wisconsin to initiate the Interracial Communication Project.

Transferring the skills

Last February, freshman Daryl Pegram of the IU men's basketball team decided to transfer to another school once the spring semester had ended. Pegram had played in only two of the team's 21 games due to knee problems. IU coach Mike Davis said he respected his decision and wished him the best.
