Jackson puts the boob in the tube

Who in the world would have thought that the adorable little girl from Gary, Ind., who endeared herself to millions of Americans on the '70s sitcom "Good Times," would grow up to expose her right breast during a Super Bowl halftime show? Certainly the not the NFL. But are they crazy?

In wake of other DVD releases such as "Family Guy" and "The Simpsons," it comes as no surprise "The Critic" made its DVD debut. The short-lived cartoon series about film critic Jay Sherman can now be seen outside of its 1:30 a.m. timeslot on Comedy Central's Sunday lineup.

When sophomore Elliott Robinson moved into Eigenmann Hall last year, he was thrilled to find a campus convenience store located in his building's foyer. He was startled, however, when he perused the receipt from his first foray into C-store shopping. That bag of beef jerky he'd been coveting? Eight dollars. Had Robinson sauntered across the street to the Village Pantry at the corner of Tenth and Union streets, he would have found the same product for two dollars less.

Hoosiers travel to Penn State looking for a win

Following Saturday's double-overtime loss to Iowa, senior A.J. Moye had a talk with his teammates. He said he spoke with emotion and from the heart to let his teammates know how he felt with this being his last year. IU (11-9, 5-4 Big Ten) will take the floor at 6 p.m. tonight at Penn State to see if that message has finally sunk in. "Everybody knows what it takes now, there's no doubt in my mind," Moye said. "We're going to give everything we've got to win. We saw what happens when we take stuff for granted out there on that floor." Emotions got the best of several players last week after the Hoosiers dropped three straight games, two of those at home. Moye and sophomore forward Sean Kline both talked about the lack of team effort, without naming names.

Rental woes solved with learning

First-time renters can look to an abundance of resources at IU as well as in Bloomington. For students who don't know where to begin, Student Legal Services is working to inform them of their rights when it comes to renting.

Newspaper pilot ups circulation in first week

IUSA proposes parking changes

IU Parking Operations' policy is drawing fire from the IU Student Association. IUSA recently drew up a working proposal to lessen penalties for first-time parking offenders. The reform would reduce parking tickets to $20-25 for a vehicle's first two infractions.

Eva Moses Kor recounts a scene of 10 to 20 sets of twins standing naked in an observation room, their limbs and body parts compared to each other. In a larger room, 20 to 30 more sets of twins could be found with rubber hoses tied around their arms to cut off circulation; blood was drawn to see how much a person could lose and still live.

Drug tester commits suicide

A 19-year old woman who had been taking part in a clinical trial of a new Eli Lilly and Co. drug was found dead of an apparent suicide in a Lilly research lab at University Hospital at the IU Medical School in Indianapolis.

Hasek's groin keeps him out for season

Tough practices act as inspiration

Downstairs in Assembly Hall where the IU wrestling team practices, quotes fill the red and white walls. Meant for inspiration and motivation, one of them reads, "Unless You Have Prepared Yourself and Deserve to Emerge Victorious, Do Not Expect to Win or Be Disappointed When You Lose." Another quote on the wall spells out, "Work Develops Champions." They are especially relevant to this team, which battles through physically grinding practices and voluntary workouts to maintain their weight and endurance.
