Settlers-vs.-Indians board game rankles tribes

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — “King Philip’s War” is a board game based on a bloody and violent clash of the same name between colonists and Indian tribes in 17th-century New England. The game’s designer says he hopes to educate children and others about a war that cost thousands of lives but receives scant attention in history books. But some Native Americans want the game blocked from release, saying it trivializes the conflict and insensitively perpetuates a stereotype of Indian tribes as warlike savages.

International Studies Building awaits financial go-ahead after 2 years waiting

An international house set to be built on campus is in its final stage. The building on Jordan Avenue south of the Herman B Wells library will establish a learning community on campus and accommodate student educational interests. Now the project awaits approval of its funding. Completion is still more than two years away.

For the second consecutive match, the Hoosiers played exceptionally well against a top-40 team. But for the second consecutive match, the IU men’s tennis team walked away with a 4-3 loss.

Yeagley: ‘Plenty to fix’ in 1-1 stalemate

The IU men’s soccer team remained undefeated for the spring Wednesday, though not in the manner it would have liked. Twenty-two shots converted to just one goal for the Hoosiers, who went to 1-0-2 during the spring season with a 1-1 tie in two overtime periods against IU-Purdue University Indianapolis.
