U.S. News and World Report releases high rankings for IU

U.S. News and World Report magazine released new rankings Thursday and several IU schools were near the top.

The Kelley School of Business’s Evening Master of Business Administration program was ranked 10th overall and fourth among public business schools. The program is based at IU-Purdue University Indianapolis.

Kelley’s MBA program at IU-Bloomington was 23rd and eighth among public universities.

“This speaks to the quality of our students, faculty and staff and to the innovative culture we share on both the Bloomington and Indianapolis campuses.” said Dan Smith, dean of the Kelley School in an IU press release.

The school’s  entrepreneurship program was sixth overall and first among public universities and accounting was 10th overall and fifth among public universities.
The IU School of Education was ranked 19th overall and 11th among public universities.

Five of its specialty programs — higher education administration, counseling and personnel services, elementary education, curriculum/instruction and secondary education — ranked in the top ten.

“This is the 12th year in a row the IU School of Education has been ranked among the top 20 education programs in the country,” said Gerardo Gonzalez, dean of the school in the release.

The IU Maurer School of Law was ranked 27th and the IU School of Law in Indianapolis was ranked 86th.

The chemistry, analytical chemistry, physics, nuclear physics and mathematics programs were all ranked by the magazine. The School of Medicine in Indianapolis ranked 17th in primary care.
