Former cops sentenced in botched raid

Three former Atlanta police officers who each pleaded guilty to a federal conspiracy charge in connection with the death of an elderly woman during a botched drug raid were sentenced Tuesday to federal prison.

Booths focus on positive body images

Students can learn to appreciate their bodies through a day of events focused on positive self-image. Counseling and Psychological Services staff will have different booths today at multiple locations around campus as part of Celebrate Your Body Day. Activities include “fat talk,” which demonstrates how students criticize their bodies. Students will then be able express on notecards what they appreciate about their bodies. These notecards will be put up for a display.

IU grad Micheal Woods follows footsteps of jazz

Woods, a professor of jazz studies and electric bass at Hamilton University in New York, has released a CD called “The Tell All Book” that he is pitching to big record labels. He said his goal with the album was to get past many of the complexities that make music elitist by expanding the boundaries of his compositions.

IU nixes Wildermuth name change

University officials announced Tuesday they will not rename the Ora L. Wildermuth Intramural Center to include the name of former IU basketball player Bill Garrett.
