Bloomington's got talent

Various local talents gathered at Café Django on Monday to perform comedy, magic and the kind of music the café has become known for. The event, called The Short List, kicked off at 7 p.m. for an audience seeking warmth and shelter from the cold rain outside.

‘Downstairs Mixup’ shows sexual curiosity

Nine students have adopted the perspective of the opposite gender — at least when it comes to creating their art. The Downstairs Mix-Up show featuring the work of Sculpture MFA students opens from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday. The exhibit will be located at the Fuller Projects inside McCalla School and is free and open to the public.

Advisors discuss woes of unpaid internships

Internships pay off, but college students are discovering that a willingness to pay tuition to work without pay could be necessary to reap the benefits. Sixty percent of college students said their school requires an internship experience to graduate, according to research firm Intern Bridge’s website.

Meet the Union Board candidates

Union Board, the student organization that has brought names like Lil Wayne and Madeleine Albright to campus, will have elections Monday and Tuesday. The board’s leadership consists of 13 committee directors and three executive officers, which are a president and two vice presidents.






Rush

Women dive into 20 Party on campus

Rush is the annual event when many women on campus attempt to find a sorority that’s right for them to join. During 20 Party on Saturday and Sunday, the prospective new members visited each sorority for 30 minutes.
