Runcible Spoon

Regular food served in a quirky setting

The name “runcible spoon” comes from a short poem by Edward Lear, “The Owl and the Pussycat,” in which the two animals are lovers and are not supposed to be together. The owl and the cat are the mascots of the Bloomington restaurant, the Runcible Spoon, and are featured on its sign outside.

Small turnout talks politics in Dunn Meadow

Roughly two dozen people gathered just before 4:30 p.m. Monday in the middle of Dunn Meadow to show communal support for Todd Young.Young, the Republican candidate for the 9th Congressional District, attended a debate with the other candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives seat several hours later that evening.

Security store finds niche in Bloomington

Freshmen Ben Krebs and Jake Huffman walked down South College Avenue and passed by a shop they found interesting. Outside a store window, they saw many different stun guns and spy cameras, ending finally at a glass box where a few handguns rested inside.


IU Auditorium continues season with ‘Legally Blonde The Musical’ debut

In a season full of acclaimed Broadway shows, the IU Auditorium will debut the critical and commercial smash hit “Legally Blonde The Musical,” at 8 p.m. Tuesday for the first performance of a two-day run.
