Ind. lures Ill. businesses with new tax ad campaign

Illinois businesses are in the sights of the state of Indiana and the Northwest Indiana Forum, which partnered to launch two new advertising campaigns Feb. 14. Both campaigns include print and billboard advertisements as well as online content geared toward attracting Illinois businesses.

Our crazy statehouse: Defunding Planned Parenthood

The Indiana House Public Policy Committee approved a proposal Feb. 17 that calls to eliminate all state funding for Planned Parenthood or any other organization that offers abortion services. House Bill 1205 is now en route to the full House.

Among the other head-scratchers making their way through the Indiana legislature is Joint Resolution 6, which would define marriage as being between a man and woman in the state Constitution.

The grand IDS Housing Fair of Spring 2011 was last Tuesday. If you are still looking for a place to live next fall and you didn’t go to the fair, you are now pretty much homeless. The fair was your last chance to find anything worth inhabiting. At this point I would advise checking out Martha’s House and the Shalom Center because you will soon become very familiar with their homelessness services.
