IU firestorm ignites after de-com

IU coach Bill Lynch’s already-hot seat is starting to sizzle. After a 3-9 disaster last season, tempers around Bloomington went from boiling to tepid once 2009 kicked off. The Hoosiers, paced by exciting young players and a new determination to win, started the season on a very positive 3-1 note.

Rivals.com is reporting that Jibreel Black, a three-star defensive tackle from Wyoming, Ohio who originally committed to IU, changed his decision today and will be a Cincinnati Bearcat next season.

EVANSTON, Ill. – Evolution was at work on a nippy afternoon at Northwestern. As both the Hoosiers and the Wildcats fought for their seasons’ lives, adapting to changes was the difference between ecstatic victory and heart-wrenching defeat. When senior cornerback Ray Fisher dashed to the end zone for a 93-yard kickoff return to put IU up 28-3 with less than eight minutes to go in the first half, it looked like the Hoosiers were the far superior team. They weren’t.
