Indiana revenues off 16 percent in March from budget plan

INDIANAPOLIS – State tax collections for March were $157 million less than what legislators had expected when they wrote the state budget, putting total revenues $755 million behind for the first nine months of the fiscal year.

The reunion of McCartney and Starr, the surviving members of The Beatles, was the highlight of the “Change Begins Within” concert Saturday. The event was held at Radio City Music Hall to benefit the David Lynch Foundation, which aims to teach at-risk youth meditation techniques.

More than 70 dead after quake in Italy

L'AQUILA, Italy - A powerful earthquake in mountainous central Italy knocked down whole blocks of buildings early Monday as residents slept, killing more than 70 people in the country's deadliest quake in nearly three decades, officials said. Tens of thousands were homeless and 1,500 were injured.

The event, which was like a variety show, kicked off Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. The month is traditionally celebrated in May, but IU observes it in April, Jennifer Lee, assistant professor of sociology, said. “It celebrates the accomplishments of all who have come before us,” Lee said.

Wing It captain Kristi Hewitt won the title of Miss ‘N Out champion Saturday afternoon. Delta Upsilon’s David Richardson-Rossbach claimed the men’s title after a close finish.

1st female dean candidate to visit campus

The second week of potential dean of students visits will continue today with Lori Reesor, the current associate vice president for student success at the University of Kansas.

Hoosiers win in consecutive comeback

The weekend brought the Hoosiers  two up-hill contests and a drop in doubles points. Prevailing in a pair of 4-3 wins, the IU tennis team (12-7, 4-2) defeated Iowa and Minnesota in its first home Big Ten matches of the season.
