Police discover human remains

Monroe County Sheriff’s Office detectives and forensic anthropologists are working to figure out the death of a man whose remains were found on Monday, said Captain Kenneth Barnes.

A resident in the 5400 block of East Lampkins Ridge Road found skeletal remains at around noon on Monday and contacted the sheriff’s department, Barnes said.

Barnes said he was not sure how long the investigation process would take, but the department is sure the remains are that of an adult male.
