O’Gara said a regional scout for the Marlins had been in touch with him the day before regarding where Florida might take him. So he wasn’t all that surprised when the call came in, making him the sixth of seven IU Hoosiers picked in the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft.


Protestors challenge Ahmadinejad’s re-election

TEHRAN, Iran – Protestors set fires and smashed store windows Sunday in a second day of violence as groups challenging President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s re-election tried to keep pressure on authorities. Anti-riot police lashed back and the regime blocked Internet sites used to rally the pro-reform campaign.

The weirdest farm in Tennessee

Bonnaroo is a de facto state within a state – anything goes here. Like the modern equivalent of Woodstock, lots of people come for the music while others are just looking to get their weirds out for four days of the year.

Summer Session II starts June 19, and most of the 2009 men's basketball class is expected to be on campus. Maurice Creek, however, is not going to be there for Summer Session II.







A step in the right direction

Busta Rhymes traded in his dreadlocks in 2006 when his album “The Big Bang” came out and turned him into an angry thug. Since “The Big Bang,” his career has not been the same. The new album “Back on My B.S.” is a move back in the right direction for Rhymes’ career, but it still lacks the luster that once roped in fans.

Holocaust museum shooting suspect a supremacist

WASHINGTON – An elderly gunman opened fire with a rifle inside the crowded U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum on Wednesday, gravely wounding a security guard before two other officers returned fire. The assailant and his victim were both hospitalized. The security guard later died.
