Stockholm send-off honors Nobel Prize winner

After meeting fellow 2009 Nobel Laureates on Tuesday in Washington and attending the reception at IU on Wednesday, Ostrom will leave for Stockholm on Friday to accept the Nobel Prize in Economics, formally titled the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel.

Trustees to meet today, Friday

There are many reasons we should keep fighting in Afghanistan. President Barack Obama tried to make that case in his West Point address Tuesday, but I am not sure if he succeeded. He unveiled that he was deploying 30,000 more troops: the right choice. But he packaged that escalation with a withdrawal timeline, making his commitment less clear.

Ind. woman sentenced to 125 years in prison

COVINGTON, Ind. – A western Indiana woman convicted of videotaping herself performing sexual acts with children as young as 2 months old has been sentenced to 125 years in prison.
