Soft-spoken, model student and polite. Those three characteristics usually do not describe a Big Ten linebacker. But these traits have helped build IU senior Tyler Replogle into the man he is today.

The IU field hockey team is seeking to build on last season’s 4-2 record in the Big Ten. The Hoosiers will begin working toward that goal in their Big Ten opener Sept. 24 at Penn State.

Sarah Pease could not tell you what goes on in her mind during a race. Sure, the senior runner thinks about her race plan that she sets with coach Ron Helmer, but what goes on during one of Pease’s races takes more than just a plan. It takes heart and a refusal to lose, two qualities that Helmer said he has never seen so much of in one athlete.

The word Hoosier became incorporated into the general Indiana vocabulary in the 1830s. John Finley, a resident of Richmond,  Ind., wrote the poem, “The Hoosier’s Nest.”

Around the corner from the elevator on the fourth floor of the Kelley School of Business, students can now find a one-stop shop for Kelley apparel and merchandise. The Bstore opened Aug. 1 and is now managed entirely by business students.

Live From Bloomington changes album format

Union Board is putting together this year’s Live From Bloomington CD team. The album, usually composed of the winning submission from each of the 15 artists, will include something new this year — teamwork.
