Hoosiers still winless in Big Ten play

In its first meeting as fellow Big Ten opponents, the Indiana women’s basketball team fell to No. 19 Nebraska on Thursday night 62-48. The loss for IU gives it a three-game losing streak to begin Big Ten play and drops its overall record to 5-11. Its 11 losses tie the team with Wisconsin for the most in the conference.





Men's Basketball v. Michigan

Hoosiers take down Wolverines, remain undefeated at home

The IU men’s basketball team took down its third ranked foe of the season, knocking off No. 13/16 Michigan (12-3, 2-1) 73-71 on Thursday night at Assembly Hall. IU is now 11-0 at home and will look to go undefeated at Assembly Hall for the first time since the 2006-07 season.

For the No. 10 IU men’s swimming and diving team, this weekend’s dual meet at No. 4 Michigan is about rebounding from an earlier loss. For the No. 8 women, this meet is all about not letting up after a previous victory against the same team.

New year brings personnel shake-ups to football team

Five players committed to IU since Dec. 11, all of whom will line up on the defensive side of the ball when the 2012 season starts. Four are from junior colleges, and one, defensive tackle Ralphael Green, is from Sam Houston High School in San Antonio, Texas.

The scene was classic as the bar crowd sat, drank and socialized with friends; everyone seemed to know everyone. With local band Qur’an Qur’an in the night’s lineup, the familiarity came as no surprise.

The B-town Bearcats performed a three-hour long concert as part of the Jazz Fables Concert Series, the longest running jazz series in Bloomington.
