Following 19-point outputs in a pair of wins that helped elevate IU back to No. 1 in the polls, sophomore forward Cody Zeller has been named Big Ten co-Player of the Week for the second time this season.

IU allows first point of season against Marshall

On Sunday, the Hoosiers faced Marshall at the Huntington Tennis Club in Barboursville, W.Va. Despite losing one match in both singles and doubles play, the Hoosiers still cruised to their sixth win of the season against the Thundering Herd with a 6-1 score.

Women’s golf prepares for spring season

In Bloomington during the winter, golf practice is not an option. This could present a problem, but no one understands trying to balance practicing during a long break better than IU women’s golf Coach Clint Wallman.

Newbauer out indefinitely with wrist injury

IU women’s basketball starting point guard Andrea Newbauer is out indefinitely with a left wrist injury she suffered prior to the team’s loss at Purdue on Wednesday.

Hoosiers 7th at Stanford Invitational

The No. 14 IU water polo team was able to bookend the weekend with wins, but was unable to pick up any victories in between. The team went 2-3 and finished seventh overall in the Stanford Invitational. The Hoosiers’ overall record now stands at 3-6.

In need of action for a sustainable campus

The Board of Trustees has postponed making a sustainable campus in Bloomington a priority, arguing in the Integrated Energy Master Plan that it’s not currently a fiscally responsible decision. In doing so, it risks leaving behind a disgraceful legacy of inaction in the face of catastrophic climate change.

Hoosier wrestling remains winless in Big Ten play

After a match on the road last weekend, IU wrestling was back in full force Friday night in University Gym. Squaring off against the No. 17 Michigan Wolverines in the second-to-last home match of the season, the Hoosiers suffered a 30-13 defeat, remaining winless in the Big Ten.

Congress is now less popular than lice, cockroaches and Nickelback. It truly is a dark time for our democracy. Watching Congress fail to compromise on the debt ceiling, fiscal cliff and a host of other issues has caused many Americans to become disillusioned with the way Congress works, and understandably so.
