The United States Department of Education released the 2013 National Assessment of Educational Progress reading and math scores Thursday, which ranked Indiana students above the national average.

MCCSC debates charter school proposal

Community members discussed the possibility of a new charter school joining the Monroe County Community School Corporation Tuesday night. Presentations were given at the Academy of Science and Entrepreneurship to help people understand charter schools and how they will affect MCCSC.

IU escapes LIU-Brooklyn 73-72

After a woeful shooting start in the first half – just 11-for-40 from the field – the IU men’s basketball team managed a charge in the second half, led by the reformed 3-point shooting of senior forward Will Sheehey to narrowly escape with a 73-72 win over LIU Brooklyn at Assembly Hall.

An unidentified woman was found dead along Hillside Drive Tuesday afternoon. Police do not believe foul play was involved.
