The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce announced Friday its opposition to House Joint Resolution 6, the proposed Indiana constitutional amendment, which would define marriage between a man and a woman in Indiana and restrict benefits for same-sex couples.

Local man admits he molested 11-year-old

The Bloomington Police Department is investigating a case of child molestation involving an 11-year-old girl and a 30-year-old man.

Illiana expressway to connect I-55 and I-65

The Illiana Expressway is a 47-mile highway from Interstate 55 in Illinois to Interstate 65 in Indiana. The two departments of transportation are working on the project together as a public-private partnership, meaning a private contractor will design, build and operate the new roadway.

IUSA resolution to divest from fossil fuel companies tabled

After debate, a resolution calling for the IUSA executive board to urge President Michael McRobbie and the IU Board of Trustees to divest from publicly traded fossil fuel companies was tabled Wednesday. The resolution is a part of IU's goal to becomecarbon-neutral as part of the Energy Master Plan.

Medical campus proposals requested

IU is now accepting requests for proposals for its academic medical research campus in the greater Evansville region. Currently, the IU School of Medicine is working with Ivy Tech Community College, the University of Southern Indiana and the University of Evansville to bring their health science education facilities together.
