TV host plays Bloomington bar

Paul Gilmartin from the popular TV show "Dinner and a Movie" graced Bear's Comedy Caravan stage with his presence Monday night. The stand-up comedian decided to stop in Bloomington and visit his old stomping grounds. Dressed in everyday attire and reading a newspaper, he seemed at home.

Grammys become a family tradition

NEW DELHI, India -- While Norah Jones' music is little known in most of India, her sweep at the Grammys brought a wave of pride and cheer to a home in southern New Delhi, where her father sat watching the awards ceremony. Jones is the daughter of Ravi Shankar, the 82-year-old sitarist who's India's best known musician.

Four's a charm for 'Cats'

"Cats," the longest running musical in Broadway history and winner of seven Tony awards, plays the IU Auditorium at 8 p.m. tonight and Wednesday. Since its opening at the New London Theater nearly 23 years ago, "Cats" has been seen by over 8 million people in 26 countries. This week's performances will add more people to that already impressive number.

Action flick clings to gold

LOS ANGELES -- Serious film proved no match for a daredevil and a big old frat party. Ben Affleck's superhero adventure "Daredevil" remained the No. 1 movie for the second straight weekend with $18.9 million, pushing its 10-day total to $70.3 million, according to studio estimates Sunday.

MTV to cover Iraq

CBS and Fox fight for No. 1 spot

Michigan aims to diversify orchestra

Aaron Dworkin loves classical music. He began playing violin at age 5 and hasn't stopped. But while majoring in violin performance at the University of Michigan, he had a revelation. After being introduced to the music of black composer William Grant Still, Dworkin approached a professor with the idea of a competition exclusively for black and Hispanic string players.

Designers support health campaign with red dresses

The National Institute of Health and the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) took full advantage of the press received from New York City's "Seven on 6th" Fashion Week in order to promote their campaign against heart disease. Sally McDonough is the account director for Ogiby, who partnered with the NHLBI to get designers to donate at least one red dress to be on display at the Mercedes Benz fashion week.
