Greed is good once again. Before you could spit in the new Oval Office spittoon, President George W. Bush started pushing his $1.3 trillion tax cut. Dubya has been using his famous charm assault. This apparently involves a clever nickname for starry-eyed representatives who still get gushy when they're invited to the White House. The alias that gets kicked around in the media is "Freddo."

Giving clothes a second chance

"That was the easiest $18 I've ever made," said sophomore Michelle White after selling Plato's Closet some of her old clothes. "I was cleaning out my closet this weekend and decided to bring my jeans and sweaters in and see what I could get for them," White said. That's the idea. Customers come in with their clothes and come out with cash on the spot.

University action lacking for senior

Women's basketball star Rachael Honegger, a senior forward, pleaded guilty to stealing more than $10,000 from her former employer, the Ellettsville IGA. The judge sentenced her to three years, but suspended the sentence to six months of house arrest. Monroe County Circuit Court Judge David Welch sentenced Honegger to six months of house arrest, but he didn't assign a traditional version of the punishment. According to Welch's version of house arrest, an IU athlete may travel around the country. That is no punishment.

Women\'s basketball star pleads guilty to felony

Senior forward Rachael Honegger has been sentenced to six months on house arrest for embezzling a grocery store out of about $13,000. Monroe Circuit Judge David Welch sentenced Honegger, 22, on Monday to a three-year jail term, suspending all but six months of that sentence.

After the firing of former coach Bob Knight, these traditions, which have always been embraced and bragged about by Hoosier fans, have started to disappear.

IU returns for 4-team tourney
