Haston helps save squandered lead

For the third time this season, junior center Kirk Haston has been named Big Ten Player of the Week. Haston led IU (14-9, 5-4 Big Ten) to a pair of road wins, the first time IU has won back-to-back Big Ten road games since 1995-96.

4 Purdue students die in 8 days

Purdue sophomore Travis R. Simpson was found dead Saturday in his off-campus apartment. The cause of his death is not clear, but police said they do not suspect foul play.

New ticket to push for campus involvement

Pledging to focus on the students and their needs, the Imagine ticket announced its candidacy forthe IU Student Association election Thursday. Executive candidates are senior Sidney Bosley, president; sophomore Benjamin Lewis, vice president for Congress; senior Dietrich Willke, vice president for administration; and junior Johnathan Goo, treasurer.

Friends mourn freshman

Seth Korona, a 19-year-old freshman, died Sunday, three weeks into his first semester at IU. He had been in a coma since he was taken to Bloomington Hospital Jan. 29. Friends said he was a fun, outgoing and positive person who often talked about his family. The IU Police Department is investigating his death, said Lt. Jerry Minger.

'Faust' opera struggles

With a red glow reflected off the curtain of the Musical Arts Center, the Philharmonic Orchestra began the somber prelude to "Faust" by Gounod under the baton of maestro Imre Pallo. Slowly, the curtain rose for the Saturday evening performance of the French opera about the dangers of lust and temptation.

Alpha Kappa Alpha 'angels' entertain IMU crowd

Models for the Alpha Kappa Alpha annual fashion show stepped out in style Thursday before a packed audience in the Indiana Memorial Union's Alumni Hall. The show was a creative combination of trendy clothes, hot choreography and club music. Music from Destiny's Child, Madonna, Jay-Z, Outkast and Mystikal was featured during and in between the fashion sets, which helped the audience get into the show.
