Kylie puts the booty in 'Body'

Australian pop superstar Kylie Minogue, known best for the 2002 single "Can't Get You Out of My Head" from the album Fever, delivers Body Language, which should bring her to the forefront of pop music. She gives the world a wonderful album full of fun, sexy music that is wonderful to both listen and dance to.

Jones' jones for a new sound backfires

The one word to describe Norah Jones' new album: safe. This little four-letter word does carry quite a negative connotation, which is unfortunate because it's not that Jones' sophomore effort is bad. The melodies have the same simplicity as they did on her last record, and the vocals are everything you would expect from Jones, nothing less, nothing more. And while "simple" worked magnificently on Come Away With Me, Jones' debut, here it leaves a lot to be desired.

'Dropout' worth a drop-in

Webmail plagued by worm virus

Opening up an e-mail seemingly from an IU friend could land your computer in serious trouble. IU accounts and mail distribution lists are being distributed without authorization of either the University or the holders of the e-mail accounts, according to the UITS Web site. The mail distribution lists are then being used by "spam-bots" that send out spam messages to the email addresses within the lists.

Open container bill stalls in House

INDIANAPOLIS -- The chairman of a House committee said he may not allow a vote on a bill prohibiting open containers of alcohol in vehicles. A second Senate-passed transportation bill that came before Rep. Mark Lytle's House Public Policy, Ethics and Veterans Affairs Committee on Tuesday also could be in trouble. Homestretch starts with 'U'

With a 12-10 overall record and a 6-5 in the Big Ten, many around Hoosier nation have begun to wonder if IU can make its 19th-straight NCAA appearance. But since the Big Ten went to a 16-game format in the 1997-98 season, every team with at least 10 conference wins has made the Tournament with the exception of ineligible Michigan last year. IU has five games remaining -- four of those at home. The first of those home games is at 8 p.m., tonight against the Minnesota Golden Gophers (9-14, 1-9 Big Ten).

BFC reviews student code

The Bloomington Faculty Council held its first read-through of the updated Student Rights, Responsibilities and Conduct Code Tuesday. The 96-page code, first approved in 1990, has not been updated since 1997. "Since 1997, technology and computers are being used much more at the University, so we added an emphasis on technology," said Mary Popp, co-chair of the University Faculty Committee's Student Affairs Committee. Most of the changes regarding technology refer to how students use electronic resources and access to University computers.

Kerry takes primary

Sen. John Kerry won a narrow victory against Sen. John Edwards in Tuesday's tightly-contested Wisconsin primary. The Wisconsin primary has been the first election held by one state on a single day since the New Hampshire primary, allowing the democratic candidates an equal opportunity to concentrate campaigning efforts in one state.

Skating club competes on national level

Five months after becoming an official club sport at IU, the Figure Skating Club has begun to grow into its own on campus. Made up of only 10 competitive and five recreational members, the club's size is small by comparison with other universities, but has shown the drive and determination to compete with larger teams, said the club's founder freshman Katie Laughner.
