Cin'e'cism

I must concede that discussion on “Where the Wild Things Are” is above me.   It is a film that has been met with such high praise as well as ambivalence, and in that vein, its criticism has transcended film and become a daunting Freudian psychoanalysis of which I understand little.

Lotus dazzles Bluebird with color and melody

The band Lotus played to an enthusiastic crowd at the Bluebird Nightclub this Tuesday. Lotus, a band that formed while attending Goshen College in Indiana, played their usual instrumental mix of funk, jazz and rock. Accompanying them was Oxford, England’s own “The Egg.”

The IU wrestling team squared off against each other in their intrasquad meet at Bloomington North High School on Tuesday. While all starting spots were up for grabs, the two most competitive battles were in the 141- and at 157-pound weight classes.

Drum majors spice up Marching Hundred with skits, dances

Senior Annie Herchen and Junior Tonya Mitchell are the leaders of the Marching Hundred, sitting in the front and dancing to the music. During their first year as drum majors, they have livened up the Hundred, adding more dances and skits to the halftime show.

Knight rejects $75K check from IU alumni

First Chilean gymnast qualifies for 2012 Olympics

If Chile were a person, its jaw would have dropped to the floor Oct. 17. For the first time in history, Chile is going to the Olympics in gymnastics. Earning 15.225 points, Tomas Gonzalez earned seventh place in the World Championship of Gymnastic Arts to qualify for the London 2012 Olympics.
