Dance celebrates ‘Legacy of Graham’

As the curtain rose, five dancers jumped, turned and kicked during a one-night-only performance of the “Legacy of Graham.” The show recognized the impact Martha Graham had on modern dance. Developed in the 1930s, the Graham technique is characterized by sharp, athletic movements.

A team boasting a 15-0 home record is typically hard to beat. Add in a 21-game win streak at home and figure that it has lost only five times at home since 2004-2005, and beating this team seems downright impossible.

Child dies at local day care

Bloomington police officers responded to a call at 3:38 p.m. Thursday at the Pride and Joy day care, located on West 8th Street, that a 4-month-old child was not breathing. The infant was taken to Bloomington Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The boy was the youngest of six children at the day care.

Taco Bell founder dead at 86

Bell died Sunday at his home in Rancho Santa Fe, according to a statement posted Monday on the Taco Bell Web site.

Union Board returns from weekend retreat

The Union Board returned from its annual John K. Malkin Leadership Retreat, a weekend dedicated to welcoming the newly elected board members.
