Goldman Sachs exec: 'I did not mislead' investors

Top Goldman Sachs officials defended their conduct in the financial crisis Tuesday, flatly disputing the government’s fraud allegations against the giant financial house. “I did not mislead investors,” insisted a trading executive at the heart of the government’s case.

Students experience poverty during challenge

The Trockman Microfinance Initiative members are currently participating in the Two Dollar Challenge to raise awareness for poverty. According to sophomore Samantha Capshew, more than half of the world’s population lives on less than $2 a day. Microfinance works to help the poor gain access to credit and small loans to start businesses that will help their families survive.




Avenue Q

At Avenue Q, puppets take home the prize

“Avenue Q,” the 2004 Tony Award-winner for Best Show, opened its two night run Tuesday night at the auditorium to a packed house. The show — part homage to shows like “Sesame Street” and “The Electric Company” and part send-up — will end its run at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Tickets are still available at the box office, and student tickets start at $19.

Bloomington hopes for a ‘bit’ of Google

Bloomington is one out of 1,100 communities  across the nation that submitted applications for access to Google’s new experimental fiber network through the Google Gigabit Project, said Rick Dietz, Bloomington Information Technology Services director.
