Seed funding supports faculty research

IU’s Office of the Vice Provost for Research will help IU faculty seeking funding from large external agencies by giving them a boost from seed funding through the Faculty Research Support Program.

Vampire Weekend to perform at auditorium Sept. 6

Vampire Weekend will perform at 7 p.m. September 6 at the IU Auditorium. According to a press release, IU-Bloomington students can begin purchasing tickets for the concert for $32 at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Bursar billing is available for these tickets. Tickets will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on Friday for $35.

Monroe unemployment rate 3 percent lower than Ind. state average

Since April, Indiana’s unemployment rate climbed — and stayed — at 10 percent, according to a list compiled by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The Indiana Department of Workforce Development ranked Monroe County as having the third lowest unemployment rate in the state at seven percent during the month of May.
