Vampire Weekend to perform at auditorium Sept. 6

Vampire Weekend will perform at 7 p.m. September 6 at the IU Auditorium.

According to a press release, IU-Bloomington students can begin purchasing tickets for $32 at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Bursar billing is available for these tickets.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public Friday at 10 a.m. for $35. All tickets can be purchased at the IU Auditorium box office, iuauditorium.com and Ticketmaster.

"Vampire Weekend is one of the most talented and popular bands of today," Union Board Concert Director James Still said in a press release. "They are a true favorite among IU students."

Vampire Weekend was named 2008's Best New Band by Spin magazine. Earlier this year, the New York-based band released its second album, "Contra." Its first self-titled album featured the songs "Oxford Comma" and "A-Punk."
