No. 23 Indiana baseball continued its red-hot start to the season, sweeping Baylor University on the road to extend its winning streak to six games. Sophomore outfielder Devin Taylor and senior outfielder Morgan Colopy each hit multiple home runs and sophomore right-handed pitcher Connor Foley pitched a gem to lead the Hoosiers over the Bears in Waco, Texas.

Indiana baseball slotted in at No. 23 in D1Baseball’s first in-season rankings, released Monday morning. The Hoosiers are coming off a 2-1 opening weekend in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where they pulled off a road upset over Coastal Carolina University, 7-2. This is the first time Indiana has been ranked since May 10, 2021, when it entered the poll at No. 21 and then dropped out a week later.

Indiana baseball picked up right where it left off last season, spraying baseballs all over Brooks Stadium at Coastal Carolina University. The Hoosiers bounced back from a 6-3 opening day loss to No. 12 Duke University on Friday by upsetting No. 18 Coastal Carolina 7-2 on Saturday and finishing the weekend with a 9-3 victory over George Mason University.

Former Indiana baseball redshirt senior Matthew Ellis announced Friday that he is transferring to the Georgia Institute of Technology to conclude his collegiate career, per the catcher's Instagram post. Ellis is the third Hoosier to transfer away from Bloomington this offseason.
