The 4-7 record for both IU and Purdue is not the only thing they have in common as they prepare for the game at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Bloomington. Playing for pride is simply the most obvious.
IU coach Bill Lynch announced the season's official team captains preceding the team's final game against Purdue. Linebacker Will Patterson, defensive end Jammie Kirlew, left tackle Rodger Saffold and quarterback Ben Chappell were elected as captains by their teammates.
