The Lambuth University Eagles were the 2006-07 NAIA National Champions
and made it to the Sweet Sixteen in the following season, but that
didn’t stop the Hoosiers from dominating them in their first exhibition
match Sunday.

The Coach Hep Indiana Cancer Challenge will be offering a boot camp along with Force Fitness. The boot camp, which will be held on November 15, will teach participants exercises to do during the cold winter months, and provides several incentives for signing up.

Former Hoosier forward Amber Jackson is now set to take on Spain. She recently
signed a one-year contract to play professional basketball for Club
Baloncesto Arxil. Many of her teammates have also continued on in sports.

DE Jammie Kirlew was added to the watch list for the 2009 Chuck Bednarik Award today. The award is presented to the best college defensive player of the year.

30 players have been named to the preseason watch list for the Ted Hendricks Defensive End of the Year award. IU is one of two schools with two players on the list. Oklahoma's Jeremy Beal and Auston English are the other two.

Today the Hoosiers hosted a Boys & Girls Club event at Memorial Stadium. Players were assigned into different groups with the kids and competed in several different events. The kids attempted a much shorter field goal, tug of war, hand off activity, touchdown celebrations, sponge races, a "home run" derby, racing, and tackling.

The Hoosiers gained two more recruits, upping the total for the 2010 class to 21. Here is a quick blurb about them.
Drew Hardin, CB. (Louisville, KY; Ballard HS) The 6-foot, 191 pound player was not ranked by rivals.com or scout.com, but had interest from Cincinnati, Louisville, and Western Kentucky.
Kofi Hughes, QB/ATH. (Indianapolis, IN; Cathedral HS) The 6-foot-2, 197 pound quarterback was ranked number 20 in rivals.com Indiana preseason top 20 for the class of 2010 and was given a ranking of 5.2. Scout.com ranked Hughes as the 82nd quarterback of the 2010 class, and listed him as a three-star recruit. Ball State, Cincinnati, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Purdue, Vanderbilt, and Wisconsin all expressed interest in Hughes.

The 2010 class has now reached 19 recruits. Here is some quick information on them:
Tim O'Connor, WR. (Cincinnati, OH; Elder HS) The 6-foot-4, 190 pound receiver was ranked 47th on rivals.com Ohio Preseason Top 50 for 2010, and was given a 5.4 rating by rivals. Rivals also ranked O'Connor as a three-star recruit, while scout.com did not rank him by position, and gave him a one-star rating. O'Connor did not receive any other offers, but Boston College, Kentucky, Ohio State, and Purdue all had interest in the wide receiver.
Brian Williams, S. (Suwanne, GA; Peach Ridge HS) The 6-foot-1, 175 pound safety was not ranked by rivals.com or scout.com. However, Williams had offers from Elon, Louisiana-Monroe, Ohio, North Carolina A&T, Tennessee State, and Tulane. Oklahoma State, South Carolina, and Virgina Tech also had interest in him.
Pete Bachman, DE. (Cincinnati, OH;Elder HS) The 6-foot-5, 245 pound defensive end is from the same high school as Tim O'Connor. Bachman was not ranked by rivals.com or scout.com but received offers from Cincinnati and Ohio, and had interest from Bowling Green, Iowa, and NC State.

I interviewed Coach Lynch this morning about the upcoming season. This off season has been filled with many changes: Kellen Lewis leaving, 4 WRs moving to the defensive side of the ball, as well as numerous other players switching roles.

Bill Ivan is the latest to verbal commit to IU. Ivan is the thirteenth verbal commit for the 2010 class. Here's some of his info:
Bill Ivan, OT. (Charlevoix, MI; Charlevoix HS) Ivan is 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds, and is considered a one-star recruit by scout.com. Rivals.com gave him a rating of 5.3 (out of 6.1). Neither scout.com nor rivals.com ranked Ivan by position. Ivan turned down an offer from Central Michigan and according to rivals.com, Cincinnati,Duke, Iowa, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State, and Purdue, all expressed interest in Ivan.
Ivan was the second verbal commit on July 20.

The Hoosiers 2010 recruiting class just keeps on growing. Two more players have verbally committed in the past three days.
Cody Evers, OG. (Little Chute, WI; Little Chute HS) The 6-foot-4, 320 pound player is considered a one-star recruit by scout.com, but rivals.com did not rank him. Evers currently plays on the defensive side of the ball, but said he knew that a switch to offense was a probability moving from high school to the collegiate level. Evers also considered Marshall, Miami (OH), Northern Illinois, Northwestern, and Wisconsin.
Ishmael Thomas, OLB. (Detroit, MI; Renaissance HS) Thomas, 6-foot-4, 210 pound linebacker, was given a 5.6 (out of 6.1) rating and 50th among all other outside linebackers by rivals.com. Scout.com ranked him as a one-star recruit, but did not rank him by position. Thomas also considered Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Colorado, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Purdue, Toledo, and Vanderbilt.

The Hoosiers got their tenth verbal commit today. Here's a little more about him:
Harrison Scott, DE. (New Albany, Ohio; New Albany HS) The 6-foot-3, 240 pound defensive end is considered a one-star recruit, according to scout.com. Rivals.com did not rank him while ESPN.com gave him a grade of 69, as a 'solid prospect.' Scott also considered Air Force,Miami(OH), Akron, and Kent State, according to ESPN.com. Scott made his decision to come to IU after an unofficial visit to Bloomington on Sunday, July 12, according to rivals.com
Harrison is the second recruit to commit in the month of July, and the ninth recruit in five weeks.
