The AstroTurf on the pitching mound at Bart Kaufman Field has been used by a lot of starting pitchers this season.
With the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning and junior Nick Ramos on second base, senior Scott Donley drove a ball back up the middle. Ohio State pitcher Trace Dempsey reached to get a glove on it.
Ohio State had the go-ahead run at third with one out in the eighth inning.
Everything went to plan Saturday when IU defeated Ohio State 9-1 to win the series. The Hoosiers did not allow an earned run all game and put up 11 hits.
