A sewing machine from the 1850's sits in the sewing room, located directly above of the master bedroom, in the Wylie House. Although, the musuem curators have no proof that this room was once a sewing they very much believe it was due to its location. Putting children directly above the master bedroom would have offered the occupants of the master bedroom little peace and quiet. Courtney Deckard
