Senior Andrew Merki, director of INPIRG's Student Consumer Action Network and Pete Giordano, director for the City of Bloomington's Community and Family Resources Department listen to City of Bloomington Director of Monroe County Health Department speaks about the new health care laws that went into effect yesterday during the INPIRG sponsored rally held Thursday by the Sample Gates. INPIRG held the event in order to inform students about the new health care coverage options granted under the new law. In addition to Caudill, speakers included senior Andrew Merki, director of INPIRG's Student Consumer Action Network, students who will directly affected by the new laws due to health conditions they have and Caya Lewis, chief of staff for the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services with the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
