Indiana men’s soccer associate head coach Kevin Robson has been appointed the new head coach at Loyola University Chicago, per a release Tuesday from Indiana Athletics.
Robson is now the fifth head coach in Loyola Chicago’s men’s soccer program history, since the school started competing in men’s soccer in 1981.
Robson played for four years in Bloomington as a collegiate player from 2003-06 and was named a student coach during the 2007 season. Robson has served as an assistant coach for the Hoosiers since 2013 and was named the recruiting coordinator in 2017. He was also elevated to associate head coach behind current head coach Todd Yeagley in 2021.
Throughout Robson’s 18 years as a player and member of the Cream and Crimson’s coaching staff, Indiana held a record of 254-77-69. The Hoosiers won two national championships and 16 Big Ten Titles in that time.
In the release, Yeagley said he appreciated Robson’s coaching and playing career in Bloomington and wished him the best of luck in his new role.
“Kevin has been an integral part of our soccer program, contributing to championship success both as a player and coach,” Yeagley said. “His charisma, authenticity and genuine love for Indiana soccer played a significant role in attracting some of the finest players to wear the IU jersey.”
The two other assistant coaches who remain on the Indiana men’s soccer staff are Christian Lomeli and Tanner Thompson. The release did not indicate who will take over the associate head coach role.
