Murder By Death Recap & Photos

Spirit Spine Shout-Out

IU Freshman Joseph Denney and his music project Spirit Spine recently got shout-outs on My Old Kentucky Blog AND The Tripwire. If you're into Animal Collective, New Order, Panda Bear, or pretty much anything that's awesome (seriously, this kid cites a wide range of influences), you should check out his new stuff. His CD can be found at TD's CDs and LPs on Kirkwood Ave.

A (belated) Girl Talk post

In case you didn't realize you missed it, the (sold out) Girl Talk show happened last Friday night at Jake's Nightclub. I'm sure most people reading this already knows it happened, but to those who were living under a rock or who were in hibernation during the frigid temperatures last weekend, you missed a great night in Bloomington.

Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson Review

Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson's maudlin, tortured lyrics and gentle guitar strumming left audience members in a somber reverie when he headlined with openers, Sam Lowry & the Circumstance and Red Bird last Saturday night at the Cinemat. Booked by the Spirit of '68, Robinson was expected to perform songs from his eponymous long player released by Say Hey Records last summer.

Kelsey's '08 Favorites

It was the best of years, it was the worst of years. Actually, 2008 was pretty damn exciting (if I do say so myself). Not only was it a dynamic year in my own life, but the music released from January to December was a mirror to the ups and downs of '08.

Yah's Favorites of '08

Overall, I feel like this past year offered up some great albums and singles. However, considering their past successes, I feel like '08's biggest artists decided to take it easy and only put in half the effort.
