The IU men's basketball team picked up Friday where it left off from beyond the arc. Sophomore guard Jordan Hulls led the charge, hitting six 3-pointers, accounting for all 18 of his points.
While most fans have their minds set on the next two seasons when some top recruiting classes hit campus, what will be the backbone of those teams opens its season tonight. The Hoosiers play host to the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles at 6:30 p.m.

IU had a tough time making shots Monday night - unless it was from the foul line. The Hoosiers made 23-of-28 free throws in their 78-65 victory against Ferris State, led by a perfect 12-of-12 effort from sophomore forward Christian Watford. By contrast, Ferris State was 20-of-38 from the charity stripe. If the Bulldogs had been able to make their free throws, it probably would have been a darker end to the exhibition schedule for the Hoosiers.
From Nathan Hart: The Hoosiers needed overtime, but IU dropped Division II squad Ferris State, 78-65 on Monday in the team's final exhibition game. Freshman guard Victor Oladipo capped a 12-point comeback with a 4-point play in the game's final minute to tie the score at 61. Ferris State's Jerrell Sanders hit a basket as time expired in what appeared to be the game-winner, but the officials ruled that it was after the buzzer sounded. In overtime, IU dominated.
Obviously all of the talk about this game is going to be about Damarlo Belcher's drop in the end zone.
