I talked with IU Athletics Director Fred Glass today and asked him if he is standing firm on his decision to let football coach Bill Lynch fulfill his contract -- which has one more year remaining -- or if he is having second thoughts.
His answer wasn't incredibly revealing.
"We've got three games here and I'm focused on supporting the team and coaching staff to do everything that we can to win each one of those games. That's what my focus is. That's what I'm doing when I'm in the weight room with the guys, when I'm talking to Bill, or when I'm down on the practice field. I'm focused on these three games."
What Glass didn't say was that Lynch will, without a doubt, be the Hoosiers' coach next season. Maybe I'm reading too far into this, but I think it is somewhat telling that he didn't have a response like that, as he has previously.
I still feel if the Hoosiers look bad in the final three games and lose all of them, Glass will make a change. If IU wins at least one and looks somewhat respectable, Lynch will be the man again next August.
