I spoke earlier tonight with Park Tudor guard Yogi Ferrell (Rivals.com No. 17 overall) about his initial reactions to Cody Zeller selecting IU this afternoon.
Here's a transcript of what he said:
What was your reaction to Cody Zeller selecting IU? "I figured it was only going to be Indiana or North Carolina. That's huge for (IU). Cody can do everything. He can be a big presence down low, but he can also step back and hit that three. That's an upside to his game."
What is your relationship like with Cody? "We have a good relationship. We talk all the time."
Did you have a chance to speak with him today? "I actually have not."
How much of an effect will Cody's decision have on your choice for college? "It has a major effect. Cody and Hanner are the two guys that I want to play with."
With Cody's announcement today, does that speed up the process for you? "It definitely sped up. That's for sure."
Why would you want to play with Cody? "Just playing with him from the summer, he get's up the floor. He runs with me. He sets good screen and rolls. He will be a huge contributor to IU."
Why would you want to play with Hanner? "His athletic ability. He's strong, I like that about him."
Have you set a timetable for your decision? "I have not set a time frame at this point"
