A Look Back at Chattanooga
After watching the tape from IU's 78-53 win over the Chattanooga Mocs on Sunday evening, a couple particular things jumped out to me: the importance of IU to continue to feed the post even if it doesn't lead to points directly and the versatility of sophomore guard Victor Oladipo. Post Touches: Along with the emphasis on defense, much of the talk this off-season has been about creating more post touches.

Women's basketball defeats Murray State for 1st victory
IU Women's Basketball (1-1) against Murray State (1-1) End of the game: IU 70 - Murray State 60 2nd Half 2nd half 14 min to go: IU 38- MSU 46 Jones gets a two pointer and one with the free throw. 2nd half 11 min to go: IU 49- MSU 51 Junior forward Aulani Sinclair hits a three to bring the lead to two points. 2nd half 8 min to go: IU 53 - MSU 56 Sinclair hits two for two on the charity stripe. 2nd half 4 min to go: IU 59 - MSU 60 Hoosiers coming back off the Racers missing shots. 2nd half 2 min to go: IU 61 - MSU 65 Jones hits one of two free throws from the line. IDS exclusive: Damarlo Belcher issues apologetic statement
Former IU wide receiver Damarlo Belcher, who hasn't been heard from since he was dismissed from the football team, broke his silence today by issuing a statement to the IDS. "I'm sorry," Belcher wrote in a text message.

Oladipo, Zeller earn weekly Big Ten honors
IU sophomore guard Victor Oladipo earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors while freshman Cody Zeller earned co-Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors. For Oladipo, the award comes a day after posting a career-high 21 points to lead IU to a 78-53 win against Chattanooga last night.

Six men's soccer players earn All-Big Ten honors
Thursday night, the Big Ten announced its All-Big Ten honors at its annual awards banquet in Ann Arbor, Mich., coinciding with the Big Ten tournament there that weekend. Five Hoosiers were named to the All-Big Ten first team, including freshman Eriq Zavaleta, sophomore Nikita Kotlov, and seniors Chris Estridge, Alec Purdie, and Tommy Meyer. Zavaleta was also named a unanimous selection for Big Ten Freshman of the year as well as the Big Ten All-Freshman team.

IU moves to 2-0 on the season with 78-53 win over Chattanooga.
Defense. Defense. Defense. That was the theme at Assembly Hall on Sunday evening as the Hoosiers held the Mocs to 27 percent shooting on the night while forcing 25 turnovers. Sophomore guard Victor Oladipo had a career high 21 points while going 8-11 from the free throw line. Junior guard Jordan Hulls hit some timely three-pointers and finished the game with 18 points. After dishing out seven assists in Friday night's season opening win over Stony Brook, senior guard Verdell Jones III took more of a scoring role Sunday as he chipped in 16 points on 5-7 shooting. IU had 15 steals and 7 blocks. Next up for the 2-0 Hoosiers is a trip to southern Indiana to take on Evansville, who beat Butler on Saturday in overtime.

Dramatic Comeback Caps IU's 5-Set Senior Night Victory
Let's take a quick look at Saturday's match between the Iowa Hawkeyes and Indiana Hoosiers. What Happened: On senior night, the IU women's volleyball team battled back from an early two sets to none deficit to end their 17-game losing streak in a dramatic 5-set victory (21-25, 18-25, 25-18, 25-20, 15-9). How it Happened: In a wild first set that saw multiple long points highlighted by diving saves on both sides, the final point was decided on what looked to be a floated set by Whitney Granado into a vacated area of the Hawkeye defense.

Men's soccer ties Northwestern 1-1, falls in PKs
After not allowing a single goal by the Northwestern offense, the men's soccer team fell out of the Big Ten conference tournament in the semi-finals after a ball which hit off senior defenseman Tommy Meyer and junior goalkeeper Luis Soffner trickled into the Hoosiers' own goal.
