Hoosiers move up two spots in NFHCA poll
IU field hockey go up to No. 18 in the NFHCA coaches poll. The Hoosiers (11-5, 3-2) are currently on a four game win streak. They defeated Penn State 4-1 last Friday and Pacific, 3-0, on Sunday. Their last regular season game is this Saturday against Michigan in Ann Arbor at 1 p.m. The 2009 Big Ten Tournament will be Nov.

Knight won't accept $75K check from donors
As reported last week, private donors sent a $75,000 check to Bob Knight to settle a lawsuit in which he claimed he was not properly defended by the university when sued by his former assistant Ron Felling. But Knight has no plans to accept that money. "Indiana University has refused for nine years to take care of their obligation in this matter," Knight said in a statement.

Jibreel Black interview
I just got off the phone with Jibreel Black, previously IU's top recruit who confirmed that he did indeed switch his commitment to Cincinnati. Black, whose brother Larry starts at defensive tackle for the Hoosiers, is rated a four-star recruit according to Scout.com and a three-star recruit according to Rivals.com. What went into the decision to switch from IU to Cincinnati? I have been thinking about the decision for the past two weeks.

Top recruit changes mind, commits to Cincinnati
Rivals.com is reporting that Jibreel Black, a three-star defensive end from Wyoming, Ohio who originally committed to IU, changed his decision today and will be a Cincinnati Bearcat next season. Black is one of the top 25 defensive ends in the nation, according to the recruiting service, and was IU's No.

Chang named Big Ten Freshman of the Week
Freshman forward Shareyna Chang was awarded with Big Ten Freshman of the Week for her play this past weekend. It is Chang's first award as a Hoosier. On Friday against Penn State, she had a goal and assist.

Former IU golfer Wheatcroft captures PGA Tour Card
Steve Wheatcroft, IU men's golfer from 1998-2001, earned his 2010 PGA Tour Card with a tie for 3rd at the Nationwide Tour Championship on Sunday. Wheatcroft started the tournament in 31st place on the 2009 Nationwide Tour Money list and needed a strong week to get in the top 25 on the money list, which is the cut off for earning a 2010 PGA Tour Card. The two time All Big Ten Selection, Wheatcroft's third place finish was his highest finish of the year and put him 18th on the final money list for the 2009 season. Wheatcroft is now fully exempt on the PGA Tour for the 2010 season.

IU-Wisconsin kickoff set for noon
When the Hoosiers (4-4, 1-3) return home from a two-game road trip, they will be playing before the sun goes down. After two consecutive games under the Memorial Stadium lights, IU will play their first Big Ten home game under natural light when the Wisconsin Badgers come to Bloomington. Will David Williams play at IU next year?
I just saw a poll on Inside the Hall today that gave me an idea for this post. Out of 596 voters thus far, 418 (70 percent) said they believe David Williams will not play at IU in 2010. So, my question is, what do you think?

IU vs Iowa game to be televised on ESPN
This weekend's matchup between IU and No. 7 Iowa will be televised on ESPN. The game from Iowa City, Iowa will kickoff at noon and pits the Hoosiers against the only undefeated team remaining in the Big Ten. After a 29-28 loss to Northwestern on Saturday, IU is 4-4 on the season and looking to become bowl eligible for the first time since 2007.
